ABORTION/ABORTION RECOVERY:

9 Tips for Talking to a Woman Considering Abortion

There is no doubt that the word "abortion" conjures up strong emotions in many people. Most people hold very firm lines in this area of sometimes hostile debate. This kind of party line stance can make for some pretty intimidating barriers when someone is faced with this choice. It can leave many pregnant women feeling alone and uncertain in what they should do. When they go to friends for help, they are often met with harsh opinions or critiques. We, their friends, fail to step in and support someone because we donít know what to say. No more excuses when it comes to those facing the choice of abortion. Knowing what is going on inside the heart of women faced with this choice can assist you in being the best friend they need. You can help them make a choice they wonít regret.

Abortion and the Church

Abortion and church arenít normally seen in the same sentence, but the numbers show that Christians have the same abortion statistics as those outside the faith. Many churches remain silent with an issue those in the congregation have and will face. Itís time the Christian body get involved and lead the way in walking alongside men and women in troubled situations. In this session, audience members will be equipped to prepare their church to face the issues surrounding abortion.

Abortion: My Story

SPIRITUAL LIFE/INSPIRATIONAL:

Healing From the Pain of Your Past

All of us have wounds, and have experienced some trials in life. Most of us are just trained to ignore the pain we feel and move on or over obsess and let it control us, but that is not how we were made to deal with pain. This interactive workshop or conference topic gives people the opportunity to face what has been buried. Great for teens and adults, especially in a world where so much of our pain happens in childhood.

Make Your Choice

This is really an opportunity for challenge. A challenge to choose who you will serve. Carrie reveals the ways in which our faith has been compromised by our culture and encourages her audience to reflect on how we might make changes and surrender our lives to God to truly be living out our faith. This session presses people to be real and to honestly take inventory of all that is in their lives.

The Box

Many of the rules and regulations of church life can put God into a box that limits our experience of Him.†Yes, we need to be careful not to compromise the truth of the Bible, but there is a delicate balance. If life gets off centered it can keep us from living a life God intended. Carrie explores how we box God in, keeping Him from doing all he has planned for us. She also shows how we might allow Him to direct our path.

The Power of God

We often miss out on the power of God in our lives. Carrie delves into the reasons for that and highlights some ways we might make the changes necessary to live power filled lives.

The Power of Praise

Praising God in rough circumstances seems ridiculous to anyone who is going through a hard time, but not only does the Bible say its what we need to do it, but praising God in our pain allows us to experience a part of Him that brings great freedom and joy. Carrie shares what God taught her as she walked through infertility and miscarriage about the power of praise.

Forgiveness

The topic of forgiveness is one that is preached from most pulpits, yet it seems to be a concept that many people struggle putting into practice in their lives. Carrie shares scripture as well as how the power of God's forgiveness transformed a dark place in her past. Carrie uses her own experience to show just what the fruit of forgiveness can add to your life.

Pursuing Purity

What is purity? Some might define it using actions as a parameter when true purity is much more than an action. In this session attendants will not only understand a working definition of purity but will be given the tools to walk it out in their own life. Great for teens, but in a morally relative world can work for audiences of all ages.

Testimony Training

All of us have a story. The great thing about our story is that it is something we know and are passionate about. Those two things can be such a dynamic way to transform the lives of others. This training gives you tangible ways to use your past to impact those around you, whether you just want to have more impact on those that cross your path or want to speak to audiences.

Triumph in the Teen Years

We are conditioned to believe that the teen years are going to be a rough road between parents and teens, but they donít have to be. Carrie uses her ten plus years experience working with teenagers to assist parents and their teens in finding some triumph when others find terror. These tips can transform your experience and open dialogue in the family. This is a great session for pre-teens and their parents.

Overcoming Peer Pressure

It can be hard to find your own path when everyone around you has an opinion of what that means. Yet it is possible to find that path and overcome the pressure to fit in, in the process. While we see so many make some bad choices before finding their way, that story doesnít have to be yours. It is possible to do things the right way and reap the rewards. This session is great for a pre-teen and teen audience.

Lessons Learned From My Life

Carrie shares her testimony and the lessons that God has taught her along the way. Not only will you connect with Carrieís life experiences and the humor with which she shares some rather painful encounters , but you will be able to glean Godís wisdom and scripture passages that have impressed her along the journey to apply to your own life. This is great for teens and adults. (Issues like domestic violence, sexual abuse, pre-marital sex, and abortion will be discussed in this session.)

Journey To The You God Created You To Be (Four-Part Conference)

A Look At the Journey

So here you are - wherever that may be. There have been a string of events that has led you to where you are in your life. Maybe you are completely satisfied; maybe you are left wanting more from life, or maybe even wanting a complete do over. Wherever you stand, your journey is not over. To build your future takes a glimpse into the parts of your past still grasping hold of you today. It takes humility and honesty, but if you want more from your life, itís worth it. Join us for some open evaluation.

Where the Heart Is

I Samuel 16:7 tells us that while man looks at the outward appearance, God looks at the heart. It doesnít matter the show we have mastered for the entire world to see, all that counts is our heart. Our motivations are so important. Do you stop and ask, "Why did I do that?" David models our heart before God in Psalm 139:23 & 24 when he asks God to test him and see if there is any offensive way in him. The direction of your heart has so much to do with the direction of your life. In this session we will look at the heart of the matter, because it really is our heart that matters.

A Ball is a Ball

If youíve ever found yourself in a rut or frustrated by something in your life that just wonít change, this is the session for you. Albert Einstein defines insanity as doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. I know Iíve found myself in the insane category, and I am sure you are no different. Either we need to change our approach or just accept various realities in our lives. This can be a daunting hurdle, but its one that when conquered brings inner strength.

Putting It All Together

Weíve looked at a lot in the first 3 sessions and now its time to put it all together and develop a plan in practicing the truth that we know will set us free. God has not hidden anything from us, he has laid it all out, and we just have to practice his plan. Letís talk it out and get you set for success, Godís way! See yourself and your future in the way God intended. Now is the time for change.
